We harvested one pear tree so far, and looks like they are coming on strong. Also we are watching several Crab Apple trees and an Apple Orchard for ripening.
There's a pear tree that is ready to go. The owner suggests a morning pick would be optimum. If you have a ladder it would help.
Let me know if you are interested. Also make sure you fill out the form, if you haven't already.
Also ask people around you if they have trees and bushes to harvest.
I made pear juice from a bunch of the baddest pears from our last pick. Easy. Cut and core the pears, removing the bad parts.
Cover with water. Cook until very soft.
Mash and then I put through a Mouli Julienne, which removes the hard parts, leaving the soft.
You can then strain it and keep the juice separate from the pear sauce.
Add sweetener if you want to.
